Indian Army Exercise Khaan Quest 2024
The Indian Army has dispatched a contingent to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, to participate in the multinational military exercise, KHAAN QUEST 2024, from July 27th to August 9th, 2024. This exercise is all about strengthening global peacekeeping efforts and fostering cooperation among nations.
Historical Background
KHAAN QUEST began in 2003 as a joint venture between the US and Mongolia. What started as a small partnership has since grown into a major multinational peacekeeping exercise. The upcoming 21st edition in 2024 marks its evolution into a global event. The exercise is hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces and supported by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, reflecting its broad international scope.
Indian Army Contingent Composition
The Indian Army’s contingent for this year’s exercise is made up of 40 personnel, including:
- Troops from a Battalion of the Madras Regiment.
- Additional members from various Arms and Services.
- One Woman Officer and two Women Soldiers, underscoring India’s commitment to gender inclusivity in its armed forces.
Main Objectives of Participation
