KAZIND-2024 marks the 8th edition of the joint military exercise between India and Kazakhstan. This year's exercise, which began on 30th September 2024 in Auli, Uttarakhand, India, will continue until 13th October 2024. The primary objective of this annual event is to bolster military cooperation and enhance strategic partnerships between the two nations.

Background of the Exercise

The KAZIND joint military exercise was first initiated in 2016 to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and training between the Indian and Kazakh armies. Each year, the host country alternates between India and Kazakhstan, with the previous edition held in Otar, Kazakhstan, from 30th October to 11th November 2023.

This year, India is represented by 120 soldiers from the KUMAON Regiment and the Indian Air Force. Kazakhstan is participating with troops from their Land Forces and Airborne Assault Troopers, reflecting the commitment of both nations to this collaborative defense effort.
